Music Lessons for Every Level

Music Explorers

Music Explorers is Airshine's early childhood program for ages 3–6, where little learners take their very first steps into the world of music through play, storytelling, and imagination.

The program includes two offerings: Animal Adventures in Music and Piano Playground.

Animal Adventures in Music

Animal Adventures in Music takes children on a 1-to-2-year journey through 10 levels, with 10 lovable animal characters each introducing a different instrument.

Piano Playground is a playful introduction to the piano for ages 4–6, building early keyboard skills and a joy for making music that leads to Piano Express.

Piano Lessons

Piano lessons is where many students find their voice, their songs, and a passion for music that grows into something truly extraordinary. Students ages 7 and up start in Piano Express, a small group piano class that builds a strong musical foundation.

By the end of Piano Express, students are playing at an intermediate level. Students who complete Piano Express are enrolled in Private Lessons for personalized, one-on-one instruction tailored to their goals and musical interests.

Piano Express

All beginning piano students ages 7 and up start their journey in Small Group Piano using the Piano Express program.

This engaging group setting gives new students a strong musical foundation while learning alongside peers — making the experience fun, interactive, and motivating right from the very first lesson.

Piano Express takes students all the way through the Early Intermediate level, providing a clear and comprehensive path as their skills grow.

Voice Lessons

Voice Lessons

Private voice lessons are offered to for singers ages 7 and up. Students develop proper vocal technique, confidence, and musicianship in a supportive one-on-one setting — learning to express themselves both as a solo performer and as part of an ensemble.

Whether stepping into the spotlight for the first time or strengthening an already growing voice, our lessons are designed to meet each singer exactly where they are and take them further than they imagined.

Drum Lessons

Drum Lessons

Drum lessons are offered to students ages 7 and up. Students begin by building a solid foundation in the rudiments — the essential patterns and techniques that every great drummer relies on — and apply those skills directly to the drum kit.

From mastering sticking patterns and rhythm to developing coordination across the full kit, each lesson is designed to build confidence, precision, and a true feel for the groove.

Whether your student is picking up sticks for the first time or looking to sharpen their skills, our drum lessons lay the groundwork for a lifetime of playing.

We are so excited to begin our children's musical journey with Airshine! This is such a wonderful place with good people who are patient and loving with children to create an atmosphere of learning passion. We're looking forward to be a part of the team of music makers!

Krystal P.

I loved Airshine, and I particularly loved Erica as a piano teacher. Many teachers don't like to teach older adults, but Erica was patient and methodical, and brought me a long way in a short time! I had to stop because I'm continuing my musical journey at SDSU, but I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great piano teacher!

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for curious families

Do I need to register before attending a class?

Yes — all students must complete the registration process before attending any classes.

Is enrollment guaranteed?

Enrollment is based on availability, so we recommend registering early to secure your spot.

Do you accept charter school funds?

Airshine accepts charter funds from Pacific Coast Academy, SoCal Scholars, Sage Oak, Compass, Freedom Academy and Element Education.

How do I enroll using charter school funds?

Students using charter school funds must receive approval from the charter school and from Airshine Music School before lessons can begin. Families using charter school enrichment funds must enroll for a full session or a partial session.

How is tuition payment processed?

We accept debit card and credit card payments. Tuition for the first month is due at enrollment. Monthly tuition is due 5 days prior to the 1st of each month. A 3% fee is added to credit card payments. A $25 late fee will be charged for late payments. Cash and check payments are not accepted.

How is my monthly tuition calculated?

Monthly tuition is based on the number of lessons or classes taken that month, so tuition may vary month to month, but budget for 4 lessons or classes per month.

What if I start lessons mid-month?

Your first payment will be prorated based on your start date.

Do you offer makeup lessons and classes?

We offer makeup lesson credits that can be used to reschedule a canceled lesson. Private lessons must be canceled 24 hours in advance for a credit. A recorded lesson will be provided to private lesson students who are unable to cancel 24 hours in advance. Group classes must be canceled 1 hour in advance for a class credit. The value of the credit cannot be deducted from future invoices.

How does billing work for San Diego Regional Center students?

San Diego Regional Center clients need to contact their Service Coordinator to get approval to use funds. Classes can be scheduled once Airshine receives approval from your Service Coordinator.

Do you offer any discounts?

We offer a 10% family discount when two or more students in the same family are privately paying tuition, applied to the additional family members' tuition. For example, the first student would pay $200 regular price for tuition and the second student's tuition would be discounted $20, bringing tuition to $180 for the second student.

We also offer a 10% full-session tuition discount for students who enroll in a full 12-week session up front. This discount cannot be combined with the 10% family discount.

How do sibling discounts work for families using charter or San Diego Regional Center funding?

We’re happy to offer sibling discounts when families have multiple students paying tuition out of pocket. Students funded through third-party programs, such as charter school funds and San Diego Regional Center, are not eligible for discounts and do not count toward sibling discount eligibility.

Do you take any holidays and how does that affect tuition?

The school calendar is divided into four seasons, which follow the San Diego Unified School District calendar. Tuition is not charged for school holidays.

Beginning drum students need drum sticks and a drum pad, but can also practice on an electric drum kit or an acoustic kit.
